Well the possibility is one of three, Mice? Rats? Grey Squirrels? Yes anyone of them and all as destructive as each other in their own way. Everyone loves the Grey Squirrel but its still a rodent and loves making a mess of your loft and chewing at your electric cables. Its just really a rat with a furry tail. The rat is even more destructive and needs to chew on your home structure just to keep its teeth from over growing. They also carry lots of dangerous diseases to put you and your pets at risk. The mouse in my experience is usually the Field mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) hardly ever the true House Mouse (Mus Musculus). Equally as destructive chewing on cables and plastic water pipes.
What not to do? Don’t ignore the problem! It will only get worse! All are prolific breeding animals! Dont buy an Electric sonic scarer as all my customers seem to own several!
