This time of year its cold and all the wildlife are hungry as they eat to keep warm.
Rats 🐀 go one stage further because they will set up home close to your bird feeder. Once comfortable they then start to breed and becomes a sudden explosion of rats with a family of around 8 to 10.
Two rats in a perfect breeding place make 300! So how do you stop them? Quite simply remove the food put down a quality rodenticide. Bird feeders can be used but in a minimal way 1 or 2 feeders and try to keep the seed off the ground.
If you see the rats 🐀 in the day it is an indication of a lot higher numbers as the immature less dominant 🐀 gets pushed out to feed when its more dangerous. Rats are nocturnal.
